Distros

We’ll post our favorite Linux distributions here (Distros).

Currently my favorites in order of preference:

Sidux - this Full debian Sid-based KDE distro installs under 5 minutes via DVD for i386 or amd64!!
Debian - the root of Ubuntu, Sidux, Mepis, Linux Mint, and many other Linux distros
Ubuntu - Kubuntu, Xubuntu are other versions - based closely on Debian
Puppy - small, light and fast Live CD and universal installer

Other distros based on RPM such as Redhat, CentOS, Fedora or OpenSuSe are good alternatives, but their package management leaves much to be desired. Apt takes the cake and installs packages and their dependencies at an amazing speed (this apt has super-cow powers!).
